Gomila Intersole Sponsors First Prosthetic Patient at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital

Lahore, Pakistan — In a touching initiative blending compassion with corporate social responsibility, Gomila Intersole has partnered with Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital to support patients in need of prosthetic limbs. The brand’s founder highlighted this milestone in a recent episode of Beyond Business, featuring their very first sponsored patient, Mr. Karam.

Karam Sab lost his leg after a severe motorcycle accident that led to multiple surgeries and a serious infection. Doctors at Ghurki Hospital eventually performed an amputation. Thanks to the hospital’s expert team, particularly Orthotist Prosthetist Mr. Mahmood , and sponsorship from Gomila Intersole, Karam has now been successfully fitted with a prosthetic limb.

During the hospital visit, the Gomila Intersole team assessed the prosthetic’s fit and Karam’s mobility. The patient shared his emotional journey, stating:

“I was in such pain before… And now I realize that I’m adapting to it and it feels like it’s a part of my body.”

Encouraged by Karam’s progress, the Gomila Intersole founder announced that the brand will craft a custom-made shoe specifically designed for his prosthetic leg. Karam will be invited to one of their stores in Gulberg or W Block for measurements and to explore designs.

“Not only did we, in collaboration with Ghurki, provide him with the limb… we are now going to measure him for a custom shoe,” the founder said.

He also praised the hospital staff, noting that doctors and teams like Mr. Mahmood work “from their heart, from their soul.”
