Karachi (13 Nov 2025): The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has expanded its social impact footprint by partnering with the Bioniks Welfare Foundation to provide advanced prosthetic limbs to individuals who have lost their limbs in agricultural and road accidents. The initiative underscores NBP’s broader commitment to rehabilitation, inclusion, and the restoration of mobility for underserved communities across the country.
As part of the collaboration, Ms. Naushaba Shahzad, Head of NBP’s Inclusion Development Group, visited the Bioniks facility in Karachi, where she met with differently-abled youth and observed ongoing technological solutions in prosthetic development. During the visit, she highlighted the vital role of innovation, empathy, and accessible rehabilitation in transforming the lives of people with limb loss.
NBP officials noted that the partnership aims not only to provide physical rehabilitation but also to support emotional and social reintegration. “Rebuilding lives requires more than technology—it requires compassion and long-term commitment,” Ms. Shahzad said while acknowledging Bioniks’ efforts in merging advanced engineering with human-centered care.

Bioniks, known for its innovative work in 3D-printed prosthetics and mobility solutions, has recorded a notable impact to date. The organization reports enabling 4.56 million hours of renewed movement, supporting over 1,000 individuals, including more than 273 women, 167 children, and 560 men, across major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sukkur, and Gilgit.
NBP representatives emphasized that the partnership aligns with the bank’s goal of promoting inclusive development nationwide. By backing Bioniks’ mission, NBP aims to accelerate access to high-quality prosthetic care and help expand these services to more regions in Pakistan and beyond.
Both institutions expressed their intention to broaden their collaborative impact globally in the future, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing human potential through precision, purpose, and compassion.
