ISPO Opens Applications for 2027 World Congress Participation Grants

Funding available for eligible members to attend the ISPO 21st World Congress in Bangkok

The International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) has officially opened applications for Participation Grants tied to the ISPO 2027 World Congress, set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 22–25 March 2027.

The grants are designed to help eligible ISPO members offset the cost of attending the organization’s flagship event, the ISPO 21st World Congress, which brings together professionals, researchers, educators, and innovators from around the world working in prosthetics, orthotics, wheelchairs, and assistive technology.

What the Grant Covers

Successful applicants will receive:

  • Complimentary registration to the ISPO 21st World Congress
  • participation grant of €250–€1,000 to help cover the costs of attending

Who Can Apply

ISPO says the grants are aimed at members from lower-resourced countries who might otherwise face financial barriers to attending. To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • An ISPO member in good standing
  • native and resident of a country classified by the World Bank as a Low-Income, Lower-Middle-Income, or Upper-Middle-Income Country (LIC, LMIC, or UMIC)

How to Apply

Interested members can submit their applications through ISPO’s official online form. The application window closes at 23:59 UTC on 1 November 2026.

ISPO has noted that resources for the grant program are limited, and only a limited number of applicants will be selected. Awards will be made according to the organization’s established selection criteria, and successful applicants will receive official notification directly from ISPO.

About the Congress

The ISPO 21st World Congress continues the organization’s tradition of connecting the global prosthetics and orthotics community under the theme “Learn. Exchange. Support. Innovate.” Bangkok will host the four-day event, offering opportunities for professional development, knowledge exchange, and networking across the field of assistive technology.

Members who meet the eligibility criteria and wish to apply can find full details and the application form on ISPO’s official channels.
