
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – A comprehensive professional development course, “Post-Operative Orthotic Management for Lower Extremities,” is scheduled for December 9, 2025, at the Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City. The event promises to equip healthcare specialists with advanced skills for patient recovery following lower limb surgeries.
The full-day course, running from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, will be held at the P & O Workshop in Building #9. The venue is located at Exit #6 on the Banban Qassim road.
The program is designed for a multidisciplinary audience of healthcare providers, including Certified Prosthetist/Orthotists (CPOs), Physiatrists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Nurses. The curriculum is structured to enhance collaborative care and improve patient outcomes through specialized orthotic intervention.
Course Objectives and Expert Speakers
Attendees will gain in-depth knowledge on several critical fronts. The course objectives include describing the role of orthotics after surgery, identifying different types of lower limb post-operative orthoses and their indications, and demonstrating the procedures for cloning and fitting these devices.
A key focus will be on promoting effective communication and collaboration among orthotists, surgeons, and physiotherapists to provide comprehensive patient care. The training will also cover how to recognize common lower extremity surgeries that require orthotic intervention and manage necessary post-fitting modifications to ensure patient comfort and functionality.
Furthermore, participants will receive detailed knowledge of post-operative protocols and develop skills to educate patients and caregivers on the proper use, maintenance, and care of orthotic devices.

The course has been accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and offers 8 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours for eligible participants.
