OrthoCare and RMU to Host Advanced Hands-On Workshop on Transfemoral Prosthetics

A two-day hands-on workshop on Transfemoral Prosthesis is being organized by OrthoCare Pakistan in collaboration with the Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi Medical University. The initiative aims to enhance clinical competence and practical understanding among professionals working in prosthetics and rehabilitation.

The workshop will be led by Farhan Shah, an experienced Ortho-Prosthetist and consultant at IPMR Clinic, Khyber Medical University. With over seven years of clinical experience at renowned institutions including Indus Hospital and Fauji Foundation Hospital, Shah brings a blend of technical expertise and academic insight to the program. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Assistive Technology from KMU, an MPhil in Public Health from the University of Lahore, and is ISPO Certified (Belgium, 2017).

Participants will engage in practical sessions covering patient assessment, stump variations, exercise routines, rehabilitation guidance, and detailed training on casting and modification techniques. The workshop will also focus on decision-making for post-amputation casting timelines and socket optimization, helping attendees develop precision and confidence through real-case applications.

Organizers Ms. Ajla Javaid and the Team OrthoCare Pakistan emphasized that the workshop is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, empowering practitioners to deliver more effective prosthetic care.
