PIPOS Celebrates International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day 2025 with Tribute to Professional Excellence

The Pakistan Institute of Prosthetics and Orthotics Sciences (PIPOS), Peshawar, marked International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day 2025 on November 5 with a special ceremony honoring the commitment and contribution of professionals, faculty, and students in the field of physical rehabilitation.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arif (Chairman, PIPOS), Dr. Rahim Jan Afridi and Mrs. Sauda Iqbal (Members, Board of Management, PIPOS), along with Dr. Abid Hussain (ADG M&E) and the Managing Director, PIPOS, who collectively paid tribute to the role of prosthetists and orthotists in improving mobility and restoring dignity to persons with disabilities.

During the ceremony, students and faculty members were awarded certificates in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and excellence in clinical and academic performance. A symbolic cake-cutting ceremony followed, celebrating the unity and compassion that define the profession.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman and Director highlighted the global significance of International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day, which acknowledges the efforts of practitioners who enable individuals with limb loss or musculoskeletal impairments to regain independence. They emphasized the importance of continuous learning, professionalism, and patient-centered care as the foundation of quality rehabilitation services.

The celebration served as a reminder of the vital role orthotists and prosthetists play in healthcare — combining science, innovation, and empathy to transform lives every day.
