Fully Funded Prosthetics & Orthotics Scholarships Announced for Balochistan Students Under Chamalang Education Initiative

In a significant step toward strengthening rehabilitation healthcare services in Pakistan, fully funded scholarships in Prosthetics and Orthotics (P&O) have been announced for eligible students from Balochistan under the Chamalang Balochistan Education Initiative (2024–2026).

The scholarship program is being offered by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) in collaboration with the Social Welfare & Human Rights Department, Government of Balochistan, and Participatory Integrated Development Society (PIDS). The initiative aims to develop skilled professionals capable of serving persons with disabilities and improving access to assistive healthcare services across the province.


Available Programs

The scholarship covers two academic pathways in Prosthetics and Orthotics:

1. Four-Year Graduate Degree Program

  • Total Scholarships: 06
  • Focus: Professional training in prosthetic and orthotic assessment, design, fabrication, and rehabilitation care.

2. Two-Year Technician Certification Course

  • Total Scholarships: 04 (Limited Seats)
  • Focus: Technical skills required for assisting in prosthetic and orthotic device production and clinical support.

Students will be selected strictly on merit and aptitude from all eight divisions of Balochistan.


Service Commitment

Selected candidates will be required to serve under the Government of Balochistan for a minimum period of five yearsafter completing their education or certification. This condition ensures the development of sustainable rehabilitation services within the province.


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a local/domicile holder of Balochistan
  • For the four-year degree program:
    • F.Sc (Pre-Medical) with at least 60% marks
  • For the technician course:
    • Matriculation (Science) with at least 60% marks
  • Must not be availing any other scholarship (affidavit required)
  • Demonstrated financial need for education outside Balochistan

Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Tuition fees
  • Admission fees
  • Hostel accommodation charges

All payments will be made directly to the respective educational institution.


Merit Criteria

Selection will be based on academic performance:

  • 90% weightage: F.Sc marks
  • 10% weightage: Matric marks

Quota Distribution

Four-Year Graduate Program Seats

  • Quetta/Kalat Division – 1 seat
  • Sibi/Naseerabad Division – 1 seat
  • Loralai/Kohlu (Chamalang quota) – 2 seats
  • Loralai/Zhob Division – 1 seat
  • Rakhshan/Makran Division – 1 seat

Two-Year Technician Course Seats

  • Quetta/Kalat Division – 1 seat
  • Sibi/Naseerabad Division – 1 seat
  • Loralai/Zhob Division – 1 seat
  • Rakhshan/Makran Division – 1 seat

Application Procedure

Interested candidates must submit applications along with:

  • Copy of CNIC or B-Form
  • Local/Domicile Certificate
  • Academic transcripts and certificates
  • Affidavit confirming non-receipt of any other scholarship

Applications must be submitted to the Director General, Social Welfare & Human Rights Department by 17 March 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.


Important Note

If a selected candidate intentionally discontinues the course, all incurred educational expenses will be recoverable by the authorities.
