Karachi: In a collaborative effort to leverage artificial intelligence for social impact, Bioniks and the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Trust have joined forces to provide prosthetic limbs to underprivileged individuals who have suffered limb loss.

The initiative aims to restore mobility and independence to beneficiaries through the provision of advanced, locally manufactured robotic limbs. A ceremony marking the partnership was held at PSO House, attended by recipients including women and children.

Speaking at the event, Bioniks CEO Anas Niaz highlighted the technological sophistication of the prosthetics, stating they are developed using cutting-edge artificial intelligence to effectively assist users with routine daily tasks. He noted that the bionic limbs are not only manufactured in Pakistan but are also exported to Jordan, with beneficiaries in Japan utilizing the technology as well.

To date, the partnership with PSO has facilitated the provision of prosthetic limbs to over 100 individuals, encompassing men, women, and children. The artificial limbs are integrated with a cloud-based system, allowing for online connectivity and remote troubleshooting support should users encounter any difficulties.

According to officials, the core objective of the PSO CSR Trust and Bioniks initiative is to empower deserving individuals who have lost arms or legs, aiding their reintegration into the mainstream of society.
