MANSEHRA – The Helping Hand Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (HHIRS) and Helping Hand CPRP (HHCPRP) marked the International Prosthetic & Orthotics Day with a special event, celebrating the transformative power of prosthetic and orthotic care and reaffirming their commitment to empowering individuals with physical disabilities.

The event brought together healthcare professionals, staff, and students to honor the advancements and dedicated work within the field. The ceremony served to highlight the critical role these medical devices play in restoring mobility, independence, and dignity.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, underscoring the institutional importance of the day. The keynote attendees included Dr. Fayaz Ahmed, Principal of HHIRS; Dr. Per Zada Khattak, Clinical Manager of HHCPRP; and Mr. Rafaqat Afridi, Head of the Orthotics and Prosthetics Department.

In his address, Mr. Rafaqat Afridi emphasized the institute’s mission-driven approach. “Our goal is not merely to provide education and services, but to restore lives,” he stated. “Through innovative prosthetic and orthotic solutions, combined with advanced rehabilitation, we strive to give individuals the tools they need to reclaim their place in their communities and the workforce.”

The event also served as a platform to outline the organizations’ comprehensive model of care. The mission of HHIRS and HHCPRP extends beyond the clinical fitting of devices. It encompasses a full spectrum of support, including advanced rehabilitation services, community outreach programs, and continuous patient guidance.

Mr. Afridi confirmed that they plan to continue raising awareness through public sessions, sharing patient success stories to inspire hope, and providing ongoing rehabilitation guidance to ensure long-term patient success.

The celebration concluded on a note of resolve, with the teams at HHIRS and HHCPRP pledging to continue their pioneering work in Mansehra and beyond, ensuring that life-changing rehabilitative care remains accessible to all.
